Karen Sabag Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

NY Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

What I wore: Top by Iro, Bandage Skirt by Millau, Shoes by Dolce Vita

As Karen Sabag’s models walked down the runway at the Altman Building in Chealsea, classic and feminine were the first words that came to my mind. Almost all of the pieces were black and white (some were accented with small pops of cobalt blue or red and a very, very few were entirely blue or red) and many were embellished with jewels and feathers. Sheer pieces left little to the imagination yet still seemed soooooo classy. Her timeless gowns are versatile and perfect for women of all ages. She finished the show with what she is known best for, her bridal gowns. They were FAAAAAABULOUS and would make any bride feel like a princess on her wedding day!

3.1 Phillip Lim Fall/Winter Collection 2010

After attending the 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring/Summer 2010 show this past September (which I can legitimately say, I purchased a few pieces that I saw on the runway as soon as they hit stores. Yes, Phillip Lim really is THAT good! We are frequently pictured throughout the blog wearing his clothes..ie. Meg's skirt from our New Years Eve post.), I knew I HADDDDD to get a sneak peek of his fall/winter collection. There was really no option here. So, when I was offered the opportunity to work backstage, I immediately said yes. No hesitation. I couldn't contain myself! I got there extra early just so I could take my time and check out all of the looks before the models arrived (again, sorry for the lack of personal pictures, taking pictures backstage is forbidden, like we already mentioned in our post about working backstage at Farah Angsana). The collection is AWESOME. Designed for a girl who knows what she wants, this polished meets punk themed line flaunted suspenders (some crossing in the back, some in the front--loved this twist on such a classic accessory!), asymmetrical hemlines, sequins and a ton of luxe outerwear. The rhinestone stars pasted onto the navy blue tights of the models show how Phillip Lim plans everything perfectly down to the minutest of details. The hair and make-up finished the look – smoky eyes with muted lips and full-of-volume rock and roll curls. Looks like I will definitely be swiping the credit card at the Phillip Lim Boutique again soon! CANNOT WAIT for this line to hit stores.

Elisa Palomino Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

What I wore: Sweater by Feel the Piece, Sequin Tee (worn under sweater) by Millau,Leggings by Lauren Conrad, Boots by UGG Australia (And don't even START to bash UGG boots! The weather was awful and cold. You can't expect us to wear heels everywhere. We are NORMAL people you know! HA. Plus, we alllllll refused to do this!!!)

After years of working and designing for some of the best and most high-end designers, including Moschino's Cheap and Chic, John Galliano, Diane von Furstenburg, and Dior, Elisa Palomino has finalllllllly decided to start her own line. It's about time!!! I mean seriously, WHAT A RESUME! We were lucky enough to get an invite (which was by farrrr the prettiest invite we received all week and had a sweet hologram! Hey, I think that counts for something! HA!) to her debut show, which was GORGEOUS! The ultra-feminine collection flaunted velvet (Meg's favorite!), feathers, fur, fringe, lace, tulle, and bows. Let's be serious, look at that list, she basically featured EVERYTHING there is to love in a fashion line! Floral prints and flesh tones added to the elegance of the pieces yet each look still embodied a very "edgy-20s-flapper-with-a-touch-of-Asian-inspiration" vibe. LOVED IT. ALL OF IT. A live trio provided the runway music. The softness of the music, which reminded me of the soundtrack to Gone With the Wind, with lyrics sung in multiple languages, completely complemented the line! And check out how the space was decorated. Talk about PERFECT.

Olivia Palermo of MTV's The City and I
What I wore: Dress by Whistles London, Sweater Vest by Millau,Belt by H&M, Scarf by Franco Ferrari, Rain Boots by Hunter

The Tibi show started with lots of beautiful florals in deep shades of blues, turquoise, and maroon and ended with tons of sparkle--pieces that were all about the glitz and glam! The colored tights were allllllll over the place! So freaking fun! The entire line was totally wearable and even looked suitable for the fall/winter weather that we get here in NYC. My favorite pieces were definitely the shorts! Loveeee the fact that they aren't butt-shorts! HA. Soooo much more refined. Shorts that are actually classy and sophisticated! Plus, they'll even look more practical during the colder seasons! (Although I could see myself rocking them throughout the year, minus the tights underneath!) They come in plaid, leather, and VELVET (yes, my obsession and continues)!!!! I'm up for buying all three!

Bryant Park Tents, NY Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, February 2010
Kiss & Fly, Diego Binetti After Party

Sadly, this marks the last show I will EVER see at the Bryant Park Tents! (Don't worry and stay posted, this is not your official goodbye just yet! Bonn covered a couple of shows after this at the Tents!) NY Fashion Week will be moving to Lincoln Center come September, but the Tents will certainly be missed!

After the show, I decided to head out and celebrate my survival of Fashion Week (thus far--still a few more presentations in me!) and my final runway show at Bryant Park! I headed to the Scallywag and Vagabond (check out the article I wrote for them here) after party at Kiss & Fly down in the Meatpacking District, thrown for the designer Diego Binetti! Fashion Week has been crazzzzzy and still a few more posts to come! Stay tuned....

Kardashians for bebe Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

WATCH THE SHOW HERE

What I wore: Dress by Yaya Aflalo , Scarf by Franco Ferrari, Rain Boots by Hunter

Before you read this, you should know that I am obsessed and probably one of the biggest fans of the entire Kardashian family. Now...I must say...Kim Kardashian looks FABULOUS in person and looked AMAZING at the Kardashian for bebe runway show! She was dressed in one of, what I thought to be, the best pieces from their new collection, sat in the front row (as part of the audience, watching the show just like a normal person--and directly four rows in front of me!!!), and seemed SUPER nice!

The entire line was very "bebe," totally wearable and very cute! Great day-to-night pieces for the working girls (like the Kardashian sisters themselves) who also like to be stand out, be seen, and go out to the hottest parties and clubs at night! Although the whole Kardashian clan didn't make it to NYC for the line's debut (I don't blame them, the weather was terrrrrrible, hence the rain boots--hey, told you I wouldn't rock this look), Kim's good friend and PR guru, whom we frequently see on Keeping Up with the Kardashians (and whom will soon be starring in his own show, SPINdustry), Jonathan Cheban was there, sitting in the front row (next to Kim) to support her. I also spotted J-Wowww from Jersey Shore, some of the ladies from The Real Desperate Housewives of New York, and E!'s Jay Mandel (who hosts E! Fashion Police with Khloe Kardashian)! My final words/all I really needed and wanted to say in this post? I. LOVE. YOU. KIM! Signed, your biggest fan.

Relive the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show!

I hope that you all remember when I "danced" (I know the thought of meee dancing...I don't knowwww....ha) at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show back in November (See posts from 11/18, 11/19, and 11/20)? Well, our favorite choreographer, Jermaine Browne, just posted the video on YouTube and I thought I would share it with you! Ok, so you can't realllllly seeeeee me pur se(I didn't dance on stage, I danced down in the pit--you can see us all bouncing around in the dark down there!), but who wouldn't want to relive a couple minutes of the Sexiest Fashion Show on Earth anyway?! (Plus, Jermaine also choreographed the dance with the real dancers of the show, which is awesome and you can definitely see it in the video!)
