NYBG: Van Gogh's Flowers

No better setting to be inspired by the intertwining beauty of art and nature.  NYBG has trasformed into Van Gogh's artist studio -  should it have been botanical. With special displays inspired by the paintings that were inspired by the flowers themselves, guests can immerse themselves onto the canvases of the artist. A standout sunflower garden is just one corner of the property that brings the art to life. On display until October 26,  this is the perfect day trip uptown.

NYBG: The Orchid Show: Mexican Modernism

No better way to usher in the spring season than a visit to the magical New York Botanical Garden. Located in  the Bronx, the sprawling lawns are the perfect place to spend an afternoon whether you're escaping the concrete jungle or coming from suburbia for the inspiring, manicured property. Each year, the Garden features an exhibition dedicated to the Orchid flower. This year's show is called Mexican Modernism. You wind through the fabulous green houses, losing yourself amongst the extensive collection of different orchids, juxtaposed with Mexican plants, such as the different species of Agave plants, as well as brightly colored walls - transporting guests to Mexico. The Orchid Show runs though April 27, 2025.

Kusama: Cosmic Nature

Autumn is hands down the best time of year in  New York City. The weather is lovely and the outdoor activities are in full effect. Running at the New York Botanical Garden through October 31, Kusama: Cosmic Nature is a must-see outdoor installation. One of the most famous living artists of our time, Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama delivers an impressive, immersive exhibition at the Bronx garden. As an artist who is admittedly fascinated with nature, there is truly no better collaboration that with NYBG. Organic and with a sense of zen, wonder will be experienced while wandering the landscape. Beauty and fantasy collide in  an unforgettable experience driven exhibition.

King Charles Unicycle Troupe

Possibly the most challenging sport I have come across to date, Unicycling combines strength, balance, finesse and so much more. After just one lesson with Kip Anthony Jones of The King Charles Troupe, it was very apparent that this is not "like riding a bike." The Troupe, which was founded in the South Bronx, has reigned everywhere from center circle at the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus to the center courts of basketball arenas, and every street in between. In an exciting exhibition and event on November 11th at the Bronx Museum, their legacy and international success will be celebrated.
