Nana's Closet Summer 2011

Nana's Closet's latest collection, entitled "Tribal Block Party," is a juxtaposition of the urge to live with the readiness to fight. Each color carries a bold, significant message, while intricate, hand-made embellishments and delicate fabrics convey the power of femininity. Inspired by warrior costumes of various indigenous tribes, designer Dina Said has produced a beautiful, cohesive extension of her Spring 2011 collection, "Romantic Army" (here).

Big Thanks to designer Dina Said for sending this lookbook our way!

Nana's Closet Spring 2011

Coming from Cairo, Nana's Closet's Spring 2011 Collection, fittingly named "Romantic Army," is a tribute to peace during the country's time of struggle and unrest. Every piece of this beyond beautiful line is intricately hand-made, creating a sense of real exclusivity and escapism from the world of mass production. With rich details, strong silhouettes, and armor-like accessories, Nana's Closet uniquely blends masculine and feminine styles in both a relevant and timeless way. Having begun in 2009, this brand has not reached the United States yet, but with it's impeccable craftsmanship and designer Dina Said's promise to honor the revival of the techniques of Egyptian Haute Couture, this high-quality, high-end brand proves that Egypt can be a huge force and will make a true impact on fashion across the globe.

BIG Thank You to Nadine Sabry for introducing me to Nana's Closet designer Dina Said, and many thanks to both for sending this lookbook my way!
