I first claimed my love for Cynthia Rowley after attending her Fall/Winter 2010 Runway Show (see it here). She has not come close to disappointing me since. I was originally and instantly obsessed with the use of fringe, the unexpected little surprises, and the pops of color that she subtly integrated into her work. Her Resort 2011 Collection embodies a smooth transition from that fateful Fall line which marked the beginning of this love affair. Each piece proves to be completely sexy and totally trans-seasonal, straddling the fall collection and, what will be a very highly anticipated, spring collection. From chunky fishermen sweaters, to high-waisted bikinis, to parachute silk skirts, voluminous dresses, shorts, and of course every collections' must-have, the LBD (little black dress), Rowley hits all of the bases and brings us all of the goods. Not to mention a plethora of accessories like shoes, socks, and fun, funky-framed sunglasses, just to name a few. She definitely didn't let us down in the "surprise!!!" department either. Innovative digital coral prints, textured tones-such as rubber dots, underlaid sequins, and even pockets (love, love, LOVE pockets) lead you to give each piece a second, third, and yes, at least a fourth look. I was immediately drawn to one particular accessory, a fringe tassel key chain. Of coooourse...Sooooooo me. I legitimately begged to have it priced ASAP!
What I wore: Top by NJC Boutique, Jacket by Ali Ro, Leggings by Lululemon, Scarf by Pucci, Necklace by Alana Bess, Shoes by Jeffrey Campbell
Big thanks to Jessica over at the Showroom for showing me the collection and giving me the Resort 2011 Look Book! Here are some of my favorites:
