BTS by Vanilla Star Jeans

New York Fashion Week and all of its crazy happenings aren't slated to start for another week, but if you've been keeping up with us on twitter, you will know that last night was already extremely event-filled. I found one event to be particularly interesting. Wet Seal and New York's number one radio station, Z100, hosted a Back-to-School blowout party where they unveiled the new BTS collection by Vanilla Star Jeans. The entire collection was designed by students. Yes, students. And no, not students from FIT or Parsons, but high school students. The autumn/winter line, which featured all of the season's necessities with everything from jeans, to skirts, to jackets, to tees (and much, much more), was completely designed in collaboration with students from the High School of Fashion Industries. Truly impressive.

Micky London

Growing up in London, the dynamite sibling duo of Abba and Kabir "Micky" Manchanda channeled the culture of their European upbringing to bring us this hot new clothing line which is most properly named, Micky London. Now, as New Yorkers, the two have combined the sophistication of the British with the edge of New York City to create a brand and style all their own. The Micky London girl dresses for success, is independent, and loves not only her career, but the excitement of city life and a fun night out among friends and family. Hence the clear ability for each piece to cross from day-to-night, from work-to-a-night-on-the-town! And not only does ML have great day-to-evening versatility, but it also bridges the gap between mother and daughter dressing. The entire collection is completely ageless. I mean really, what girl doesn't have a ball in her own mother's closet? Now moms will be raiding their daughter's closets, too. Overall, Micky London is a collection to share, where age is certainly not an issue. The silhouettes are both classic and flattering. Plus, each piece that embodies a pop of vibrant color fits perfectly into any wardrobe. Serious with a real spark of sexy, Micky London is all about attitude.

Check out some of my favorite looks from the Micky London Fall/Winter 2010 Collection:

And now I bring you a very exclusive sneak peek of the very, very first look at what is in the works for Micky London and their Spring 2011 Collection. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the sketches for the upcoming collection, so stay tuned for what materializes. How exciting is this?!

Thank you to all of the people at the Micky London Showroom for sharing your Look Book and sketches!

AL&ALICIA

Quality, comfort, and exclusivity. Three things we should alllllwayyyyys look for when choosing clothing. AL&ALICIA is all three and MORE! From Singapore, I fell in looooove with this new label that can be best described as high-end street wear (HELLLLOOOOOOO, if you know me this is the only type of clothing that I actually wear!!!) Not to mention that the designers pulled their inspirations from the edgy streets of NYC and converted men's styles into women's wear (think: boyish, oversized tees blended with classic silhouettes). How...ME!? When WASN'T the last time you saw me in girly leggings paired with one of my boyfriend's XL tee shirts and/or sweatshirts? Hence, my immediate obsession with this line! The collection, which is the label's first and is perfectly entitled 'Street (n), path upon which travel occurs,' is only offered and can only be obtained through exhibitions, private viewings at the design studio (most likely not happening for you as they're in Singapore!), and via AL&ALICIA's online retail store (Hey, I told you this was an exclusive line!). Each product is produced in very limited quantities, so act now if you want to be one of the first (and one of the only) to be wearing AL&ALICIA in the United States!!

Also, my obsession with AL&ALICIA was more than confirmed when they sent me some of the most comfortable clothing I have ever put on my body. It truly is a ready-to-wear line with amazing tailoring, high quality fabrications, and unique detailing! LOVE. LOVE. LOVE IT. MUST. GET. MORE. Check out how we styled their clothing in the photo shoot below!

What I wore: Top by AL&ALICIA, Tights by Unknown (Purchased at Essentials), Boots by Jeffrey Campbell, Headphones by Sony, Biker Gloves by Carolina Amato, Rings by (Left to Right) David Yurman, YSL, Unknown & Unknown (Both purchased at LF Store)
What I wore: Romper by AL&ALICIA, Top by AL&ALICIA, Faux Fur Vest by Luma, Tights by Charsons (Purchased at TightsPlease), Belt by Streets Ahead, Glasses by Unknown (Purchased in a Vintage Shop), Ring by Sarah Davida, Bracelet by Noir, Boots by See by Chloe
Artwork: Prints by Salvador Dali
