Sanctuary Fall 2010 Collection

Greetings from Vancouver, BC! It's a bit chilly here for June, so figured that no time was better than now to blog about the fab collection that is coming our way from Sanctuary this coming fall. Although Sanctuary began as a brand that only featured pants, they have completely evolved and it is their jackets that will be VERY strong this coming season (in fact, I am longing for one at this very moment). From military to motorcycle styles, from english boyfriend to riding cuts, and from faux fur to puff-jackets, there is going to be a hugeeee variety. Pants are still one of Sanctuary's specialties, and cargo will be their premier style come autumn. After my recent trip to their showroom, where they displayed masculine bottoms paired with their flirty, girly, and flowing tops, I felt like I might be getting ahead of myself with excitement for the season to come!...And maybe that is now magnified because the temperature here in Vancouver makes it feel like it is fall already. Either way, definitely can't wait to get tons of Sanctuary into my closet!

Big thanks to Natalie Kranz for showing me the Collection and sending me the Fall 2010 Look Book!

Well, time to set sail to Alaska, where I will be more than in need of one of these jackets.
Stay tuned!

LookBooks & Feature Interview

Launched just over one short year ago, in April of 2009, LookBooks has grown to be a huge force as a networking vehicle for people in the fashion industry. What started as a vision of a interactive online platform for his fellow creative friends, former model and entrepreneur Ryan Cook has created a site that has become one of the top spots for fashion professionals to research, gain exposure, interact, and, overall, take their careers to the next level. Partnering up with some of the best in the business, the company and its online-based community have grown tremendously during its short existence. As a new member on the site, I was beyond flattered when I was contacted about being interviewed for a feature. Sitting down with their editor, Samantha Lim, was a total and complete blast! She put me at such ease, it felt like I was just grabbing a coffee with a friend rather than being interviewed. She also assured me that LookBooks has some prettttty rad new features that they will be launching in the near future. Plus she let me in on some seriously amazing contests and giveaways that they will be running. Check out my Interview and Member Feature here, and be sure to set up your own account at LookBooks ASAP! You aren't going to want to miss out on anything they have (and are going to have) to offer!

Out of This World

What I wore: Body Suit by American Apparel, Leggings by Lauren Conrad, Zoe Boots by Sam Edelman

Photography by Jacqueline Iannacone Photography
Make-Up by Emanuel Garcia
Styling/Modeling by Megan Averbuch

I recently revisited my extreme love for the Balenciaga/Sam Edelman Zoe Boots (most recently here, and also see them here). Being that the boots are sooooo, soooo, soooooooooooo amazing, they more than fit, both literary and figuratively, into the "out-of-this-world" theme of this shoot.
And...I can't decide...Do we prefer this picture in color...or in black and white?

Special Thanks to photographer Jaqueline Iannacone.Working with her is ALWAYS a blast! See our other recent shoot here.
